Position the forks in such a way that they are at equal lengths in relation to the centre 
of the column.

Position the forks in such a way that they just touch the tyre at a floor height (to 
ensure the rim does not sink through when the tyre has a puncture).

Lock the fork by pushing the T-shaped handle again downwards in one of the holes 
(check this).
