Troubleshooting
Operator Manual

This section describes the types of malfunctions which may occur
when using Reliance
TM
EPS Endoscope Processing System and
indicates probable causes and corrective actions.
NOTE: For FAULTS list specific to 50 Hz processors, refer to Operator
Manual - Information Supplement For 50 Hz Processors (P920501-322).
If you are unable to correct the problem with use of the Troubleshooting
Chart (
S
ECTION
), or the Fault Chart (
S
ECTION
), or if a problem
occurs that is not described on either chart, please call STERIS.
NEVER PERMIT UNQUALIFIED PERSONS TO SERVICE THE
RELIANCE
TM
EPS PROCESSOR.
IMPORTANT: If a fault occurs during the WASHING or HLD phase
and the processor did complete an Abort sequence, follow the device
manufacturer's rinsing procedure to remove washing or high level
disinfection solution. DO NOT USE ON A PATIENT ANY DEVICE
THAT HAS NOT BEEN SUBJECTED TO A SUCCESSFULLY
COMPLETED RELIANCE EPS ENDOSCOPE PROCESSING
CYCLE.
IMPORTANT: If a situation occurs requiring a call to STERIS for
further investigation, the optional Automated Leak Test Assembly
can be disabled in Supervisor mode to allow the operator to
continue processing endoscopes within the Reliance EPS
Processor. In that event, all the leak test features would be turned
off (refer to S
, for
details).

maintenance performed by
unqualified personnel or
installation of unauthorized
parts could cause personal

equipment performance or
result in costly damage.

service options.

In an emergency, stop
cycle by pressing STOP
touch pad twice to abort
cycle. Wait for processor to
complete Abort sequence.
Wear appropriate Personal

(PPE) when reaching into
chamber.
