Open mechanical instruments, such as scissors
and clamps.

Place instruments in basket, distributing evenly.
Make sure instruments do not protrude through
basket or above top of basket.

Any small instruments that may fall through the
basket should be first placed inside a mesh tray,
and then placed in the basket.

5.

If cannulated instruments are to be processed
in the same wash cycle, they should be
connected once all general instruments have
been loaded.

6.

If no cannulated instruments are being
processed, make sure a luer hose attached to a
distal connector is added to each flush manifold
to aid water circulation. Refer to

IMPORTANT

The weight of a basket loaded with instruments MUST NOT exceed 20 kg
(44 lb). Excess instrument load should be set aside for the next processing
cycle.

Instruments should be distributed evenly around the basket.

l

Avoid instruments contacting each other if possible.

l

Place instruments individually into the basket. Avoid tipping or dropping
multiple instruments from a bin into the basket.

l

Always process instruments in multiple wash cycles rather than load a
basket with many instruments contacting each other, even if this is within
the basket weight loading capacity.
