Slide the Extension EST over side of the EHU that shows the plastic coupler protruding, un-
til the extension EST has bottomed out as shown in figure 8.6.
•
Insert the aluminum mounting post into the EST (element support tube) on the short side
of the reinforcing plate until it bottoms out as shown in figure 8.7.
•
Place the top half of the respective saddles (2” on the long side, 1.75” on the short side)
on the 5/16” bolts. You will not require the set screws for these saddles. Figure 8.8 shows
the completed task.
•
Do not tighten the short side saddle until the aluminum mounting post is inside the EST or
you could potentially crush it.
•
Be sure to use anti-seize on the bolts. Thread the 5/16” nuts on and tighten to no more
than 15 ft lb.
•
Slide the quick disconnect boot up to the EST and tighten both sides firmly. Wait 15 min-
utes and retighten. Figure 8.9 shows the completed wind reinforcing assembly.
