Before first use
1. Remove any labels and/or swingtickets.
2. Wash the inside of the Glass kettle body with liquid
detergent and warm water, rinse and dry.
3. Wipe the outside of the Kettle body and Lid with
a cloth, using liquid detergent and warm water.
•
DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE KETTLE IN WATER.
4. Follow the “How to use” instructions to boil the maximum
amount of water, then discard the water.
5. Repeat step 4 above.
How to use
1. Position the Base on a level and stable surface; unwind the Mains
Lead from the Base to achieve the optimum length: please read
the CAUTIONS on siting and connecting to your mains electricity.
2. Use the Lid Opening Button to open the Lid .
3. Fill the Kettle as required - never less water than the Minimum (MIN) level shown,
or more than the Maximum (MAX) level on the Water Level Indicator .
4. Close the Lid by pushing it down.
5. Return the Kettle body to the Base .
6. Plug the base Mains Plug into a mains power socket and switch the socket ON.
7. Switch the Kettle ON by moving the On/Off Switch downwards to the
“1” position - the Power light will illuminate while the Kettle is heating.
8. The water will boil and then the Kettle will switch OFF
automatically - the Power light will extinguish.
9. The boiling sequence of the Kettle can be interrupted at any time
by moving the On/Off Switch upwards to the “0” position.
10. Switch off the mains socket and remove the Mains Plug .
11. Pour water from the Spout of the Kettle, as required.

TAKE CARE WITH VERY HOT WATER.
•
Once the water has cooled, it can be reheated by pressing the On/
Off Switch . This will not function while the water is still hot.
•
THE KETTLE HAS OVERHEATING PROTECTION, WHICH
WILL AUTOMATICALLY SWITCH IT OFF. HOWEVER, YOU
SHOULD TAKE CARE NOT TO ALLOW IT TO BOIL DRY.
Cleaning & Care
•
Allow the Kettle to cool completely before cleaning.
1. Wash the inside of the Kettle Body with liquid
detergent and warm water, rinse and dry.
2. Wipe the outside of the Kettle Body and Lid with
a cloth, using liquid detergent and warm water.
•
DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE KETTLE IN WATER.
•
Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners, metal objects or a brush with metal bristles.
•
Descale the Kettle regularly.
•
To minimise scale build-up remove all water when the
kettle is not in use (especially overnight).
•
When the Kettle is not in use, remove all water and store in a dry place.
Cautions
•
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience
or knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
•
This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of
an external timer or a separate remote-control system.
Always keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
•
Ensure that your home electrical supply corresponds to the
requirements of the appliance - see “Specifications”.
•
Do not connect the Mains Plug into the socket, or use the
appliance, if your hands or the appliance are wet.
•
Unplug the appliance whenever it is not in use.
•
THE APPLIANCE MUST ALWAYS BE EARTHED - always
connect to a mains socket with an earth connection.
•
Never leave the appliance unattended when it is operating.
•
The Mains Lead should be positioned so as not to cause an
obstruction or to overhang the edge of the surface, where it
could accidentally be snagged or pulled by children.
•
Do not use the appliance outdoors.
•
Do not place the appliance close to a heat source.
•
Ensure that the Mains Lead is not near any hot surface.
•
Never switch the kettle on during descaling
