Fixed Base
Turn chair upside down. Locate and remove 1/2"
hex head bolt from inside base tube, using a 3/4"
socket. Remove base from chair by pulling up and
off. Follow the standard base procedure for removing
and installing the base cap. Re-install the base onto
chair by rotating until the notch on base tube drops
down onto raised tab on chair control.
CAUTION:
Failure to properly align base to chair
could cause breakage of chair column. Re-install
spacer, washer & bolt and torque to 75 lb.-ft. If
chair was assembled using (2) washers & bolt,
torque bolt to 40 lb.-ft. after applying Loctite adhesive
to the bolt threads.
CAUTION:
Failure to properly install spacer,
washers, Loctite and torque bolt could cause base to
become loose creating an unsafe condition.
4.
Swivel Base
Turn chair upside down. Locate and remove the
1/4-20 phillips head bolt and thrust washer (see
illustration above). Remove base from chair by
pulling up and off. Follow the standard procedure
listed above for removing and installing base caps.
Replace base and secure with thrust washer, Loctite
and the 1/4-20 bolt.
NOTE:
Torque bolt 60 to 80 in.-lbs.
Remove
Replace (5) Screws
(Recommend Maximum
8 in.-lb. Torque)
