EQUIREMENTS
The Slim Lite PCB will have Pin P13 generate a GPIO (General Purpose Input/Output). It is implemented
on GPIO_2 as an active-low input to the controller ASIC. The P13 signal at the host connector should be
28-volt tolerant.

The host must complete a write to the drive, with the drive acknowledging the message, before asserting
the
n
PF signal. See Figure 17.

PERATION
If the SSD is operating in Write Immediate (WI) with Early Command Acknowledgement (ECA) mode, the
drive firmware, upon receiving the PF interrupt, will terminate the ATA host port connection, complete the
last write command (if any), and place the controller and data buffer in slumber mode and wait for power-
down. The PF event will be monitored while power remains. If PF is inactive without any power drop-outs
on the drive while the firmware is in the waiting state, e.g., power resumes, the drive will be rebooted and
start as if a power-cycle has occurred. The host power hold-up time required for the SSD to shutdown is
6ms for MLC NAND and 1.5ms for SLC NAND.
If the SSD is operating in Write-Cache Enabled (WCE) mode, the firmware will function as described in
the preceding paragraph, but will also flush the cache, clear the cache tags, and perform all operations
that are necessary to preserve the data integrity of the acknowledged write data. It then waits for power-
down and behaves as described in the preceding paragraph. The host power hold-up time required for
the SSD to shutdown under these conditions is 500ms.
