Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP
1. Gently slide the SATA CardBus adapter into an available CardBus slot until it is
well seated. Connect the Serial ATA cable(s) between the SATA CardBus
and the Serial ATA device(s). Consult your laptop’s user manual if you
require further assistance.
2. Windows will display the “Found New Hardware Wizard.” Click “Next.”
3. Please insert the driver disk into corresponding device.
4. Select “Search for suitable driver for my device” and click “Next.”
5. Select “Specify a location” and click “Next.”
6. Click “Browse” to change the folder to the current location for the driver.
7. Click “OK” to install the driver.
8. If the “Hardware Installation” alert screen is displayed, click “Continue Anyway.”
9. The wizard will now copy the required files to the system and start the driver.
After starting the driver, the wizard will display a completion dialog. Click
“Finish” to exit the wizard.
10. When Windows finishes installing the software, you should verify that your
adapter has been installed correctly. Check the Control Panel-System tab-Hardware
tab-Device Manager tab and click on SCSI and RAID Controllers. You should see
your Serial ATA adapter installed.
Installation

Driver Installation
If you lose your driver disk, the latest drivers can be downloaded from our website.
Visit www.startech.com, click on the Downloads link and follow the instructions
provided.
Windows Installation
Depending on your operating system and the configuration of your computer, the
instructions below may not be identical to what you see on your screen.
Windows 98SE/ME

7. When Windows finishes installing the software, you should verify that your adapter
has been installed correctly. Check the Control Panel-System tab-Hardware tab-

adapter installed.
