Legal Requirements
§
According to the eKFV, the B E W E GT "Mit Komfort" may be operated on public
roads in Germany. A small electric vehicle may only be operated on public roads if:
1. lt corresponds to a type for which a general type-approval has been granted or
for which a single-use type-approval has been granted.
2. lt carries a valid insurance sticker for small electric vehicles according to § 29a
of the vehicle registration regulation.
3. II is marked wilh a vehicle idenlificalion number and a nameplate wilh the
following requirements in accordance with
§
59 (1) sentence 1, paragraph 1a
first half-sentence, paragraphs 1 b or 2 of the Road Traffic Licensing
Regulations:
a) The vehicle type shall be indicated on lhe nameplate as "small electric vehicle",

(b) instead of lhe provisions of Article 59 (1 ), first sentence, points 5 and 6 of lhe
Road. The information given on the approval plate must show on the nameplate
maximum design speed and the approval number of the General Type-approval
or individual lype-approval of the driving license be specified, and

a) the requirements for the deceleralion device according to § 4,
b) the requirements of the lighting equipment according to § 5 (1)
Sentence 1 and paragraph 3,
c) the requirements for the equipment for acoustic signals according to § 6
sentence 1 as weil
d) corresponds to lhe other safety requirements according to
§
7.
The data confirmalion according to § 20 section 3a sentence 1 to 3 of the Road
Traffic Licensing Regulations or the certificate of individual operating license must
be stored for commissioning and responsible persons Request for review will be
handed out.
For small electric vehicles, the issuance is aimed
1. general operating permit according to the requirements of § 20 of the Road
Traffic Licensing Regulations,
2. an individual operating permit in accordance wilh the requirements of
§

Road traffic licensing regulations.
