11. The black wire is the ground lead and should be connected to a good chassis ground.
12. The purple wire is used to select between High or Low power. When the purple wire is
connected to ground, the light will operate under low power (night mode). If you will be
running the light on high power all of the time, simply tape off the end of the purple wire,
leaving it disconnected. If you would like to operate your light on low power all of the time,
connect the purple wire to ground. If you would like to switch between High and Low
power, connect the purple wire to Ground through a second switch.
There is no
High/Low option on the mag mount versions.
13. Connect the red wire to your switch.
Be sure to
use a 10 amp fuse
when connecting the
switch to the positive side of the +12VDC power supply.
Pattern Programming
PLEASE NOTE :
The following steps are to be performed
after the unit has been mounted and after all of the
necessary connections to the flasher have been
made. The Pattern Programming button or Pattern
Programming Wire is normally only used for
programming purposes during installation. Models
with a cig plug will be equipped with a Pattern Select
Button inside the light. Models that are hard wired
will have a red w/green stripe wire that is used for
Pattern Programming.
1. To begin the programming sequence, power up the light so that
it is flashing.
2. To change the flash pattern, briefly touch the Pattern
Select wire to +12VDC and release it (or press and
release the Pattern Select Button), repeating this to
scroll through the patterns listed on the following page.
The cycle will repeat itself after the last pattern.
3. Once you find the pattern you wish to display, leave the
Pattern Select wire disconnected and deactivate the
light. This will store the selected pattern into the
memory.
NOTE:
If at any time you would like to reset the pattern to the factory default (Pattern 5),
simply touch the Pattern Select Wire to +12VDC or press the Pattern Select
Button for four seconds, until the light blinks once, and release it. The default
pattern will be restored. Touching the wire to +12VDC or holding the button for
eight seconds (the light will blink twice) reverts the light to Pattern 19.

Mag Mount Versions
If you are mounting the light on the roof of your vehicle, take extreme care to ensure
that the magnet is firmly seated on your roof, and that the pull of the magnet is
sufficient to secure the light in place. Since the composition of the metal in the roofs
of different vehicles may vary, as well as the contour, texture and/or condition, Star
cannot guarantee the ability of the light to remain in place upon a moving vehicle.
It
is the sole responsibility of the owner to ensure the warning light is secure.
Care should be taken when routing the cig plug cord so that it does
not interfere with the proper operation of the driver-side or
passenger-side airbag! Failure to heed this warning may result in
serious or fatal injury.
