BATTERY INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT
Record the serial number from the tag on the back of
the safe or the tag on the inside of the lock cover plate
on the front of the safe. Record your combination
number.
Keep keys and combination in a secure place away
from children.
DO NOT STORE KEYS OR YOUR COMBINATION
INSIDE SAFE
You will need to use the key to open the safe the first
time in order to install the batteries. At a later time
you may need to open the safe with the key if your
batteries run down or if you forget your
combination.
Remove the lock cover plate. Insert the key and
turn counterclockwise. Push down the latch and the
door will spring open. (Figure 1)
When you open the safe door for the first time you
will need to install the batteries.
This safe uses 4 - 1.5V, AA alkaline batteries
(included). Under normal use, batteries will last
about 1 year. When the batteries are low, the red
light will come on warning you that the batteries are
low. To test the batteries, enter your security code. If
the batteries are low the red light will start to flash.
The battery compartment is located on the back of
the door. Remove the cover and install all new
batteries.

NOTE: Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not
mix alkaline, standard or rechargeable batteries.
