Congratulations on your purchase of the Universal Pole Kit by Squirrel Stopper! Please carefully read the following instructions in their entirety
before assembly and use.
CONTENTS: Please take an inventory of these parts before you begin.
This box contains: 1 universal mounting flange with 4 screws and plug; 2
thumbscrews; 1 top pole segment; 1 middle pole segment; 1 twist rod; 1 lower pole segment with attached ground auger.
Please check that all parts
have been received. Refer to Design View and Parts List on back of this page and notify manufacturer of any missing pieces (you will need
your receipt and/or proof of purchase).
WARNINGS
: Pieces are made of metal and may have sharp or rough edges. Handle with care. Keep fingers clear when adjoining sections.
INSTALLATION AND ASSEMBLY:
Step 1. Insert lower pole into ground:
With the auger tip on the ground slide the twist rod through the holes in the lower pole section. Firmly turn
the twist rod to screw the auger into the ground.
**Ensure that the twist rod is parallel to the ground and that the lower pole section is going
down straight into the ground.**
Continue turning the pole using the twist rod until you have reached the proper depth (the mounted pole should be
between 58.5 and 53.5 inches tall when properly installed).
**The pole MUST be inserted to the proper depth to work properly.**
Remove the
twist rod and store for future use.
Step 2. Prepare top pole section:
Carefully attach the universal mounting flange to your birdfeeder or birdhouse using the screws provided (this
pole kit has been designed to work with various mounting flanges). You have the option to mount to the top of the flange or on the side. If you mount
from the side of the flange, insert the included plug into the top of the flange (if you mount to the top of the flange, store the plug for future use).
Slide the mounting flange over the tapered end of the top pole section and secure in place by tightening the 2 thumbscrews.
Step 3. Assemble pole:
Twist the bottom of the middle pole section onto the lower pole section already inserted into the ground.
Carefully lift the top pole section onto the middle pole section and twist to tighten.
Do NOT overtighten.

At regular intervals, CHECK AND TIGHTEN (IF NECESSARY) ALL SCREWS AND ATTACHMENTS.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
To clean, wipe with a wet cloth.
Note: This unit is made of galvanized steel and is very rust resistant.
However, check unit periodically for rust. If any should appear, remove the
rust with steel wool and spray with flat black Rust-Oleum spray paint.
