Warning
Images of SQlab carbon handlebars in advertisements, so-
cial media, magazines and catalogs often show riders in
extreme situations that are very dangerous and can lead to
serious injury or death. The riders shown are mostly profes-
sionals, with a lot of experience and years of practice. Do not
try to simulate these driving maneuvers without the neces-
sary experience and practice.
• Always wear suitable protective equipment (helmet, knee
and elbow pads, gloves, etc.).
•
Participate in cycling technique courses that prepare
youaccording to the conditions of use.
• Ask the race organiser, track attendant and/or other cyc-
lists about the current track conditions.
• Increase the number of unscheduled inspections accor-
dingto use.
• Replace your handlebars more frequently and prophylacti-
cally, especially if there is the slightest suspicion of over-
load and the least sign of a defect.
• Always be aware of your own limitations and those of you-
requipment on fast descents, jumps, drops, and other ex-
trememanoeuvres.
• Expect serious injuries despite protective gear, plenty of-
practice and a long period of experience.
Warning
Each component has its load limit, which can be exceeded in
extreme manoeuvres. If the handlebars are overloaded, this
may cause failure or breakage. Observe the following:
• Never exceed the permitted system and rider weight.
• Frequent inspection intervals, especially after a situation
in which particularly high or sudden force is applied, for-
example cycling mistakes resulting in a crash.
• In case of doubt, the possibly damaged component should
be prophylactically replaced, especially after a situation
with particularly high or sudden force is applied, for ex-
ample cycling mistakes resulting in a crash.
• If you have the slightest doubt, you should ask your SQlab-
dealer for advice.
• After replacing a component that cannot immediately seen
to be defective, to protect third parties, the (possibly) da-
maged part must be made definitively unusable.
Assembly
Assembly of the handlebars
Warning
When installing new Handlebars, be
sure to keep the following in mind:
• Wider handlebars change the stee-
ring characteristics of your bicycle
considerably.
• Due to the changed handlebar width
it can lead to higher forces, that ac-
ton the stem.
• Handlebars with modified width can-
hit the frame and cause damage.
• You can find the handlebar width of
your particular handlebar on page 12
in the technical data section of this
manual.
Warning
Badly assembled components pose a
significant danger.
• You must read and understand the
instructions and notes in the ma-
nual before you begin the assembly.
• If you have any questions about in-
stalling these components, contact
your SQlab dealer or have the hand-
lebars assembled by an experienced
mechanic at your SQlab dealer.
Caution
To fit an eMTB, eBike and pedelec,
some country-specific standards, ru-
les and regulations must be followed.
• In Germany, please observe the „Gui-
deline for Conversion to Pedelecs“
of the Zweirad-Industrie- Verband eV
(http://www.ziv-zweirad.de/) in co-
operation with Verbund Service und
Fahrrad geV (www.vsf .de) and Zed-
ler – Institute for Bicycle Technology
and Safety GmbH (www.zedler.de).
• The SQlab Carbon handlebars have
NOT received blanket approval for
fast pedelecs (S-Pedelecs, up to
45km/h).
