Instructions For Fitting And Adjustment
Do not discard this card; the following instructions should be retained for future
reference. This information must be read and understood, failure to do so could
result in serious injury or death. Only properly trained personnel should use this
equipment.
The activity for which this product may be used is inherently dangerous. The consequences
of incorrect selection, use or maintenance of equipment could result in damage, serious
injury or death. This device is designed to be fitted to equipment for individual protection
against significant falls, and must be assigned individually.

Bosun’s chair + spreader frame + adjustable straps
Model : 453 suspension above the head.

For the correct use of those items, refer to AS/NZS 4488.2.
1) When seated in the chair, the built in waistband is fastened, latching the double action
hook to the waist “D”. The belt is then adjusted by pulling on the free end of the
waistband to a comfortable tightness. To loosen pull on the back tab.
Model : 454 & 455, suspension at chest level.
1, Holding the suspension “D” in front of you and the chair facing forwards, step under the
“D” and over the waist band into the chair.
2, Fasten the waistband as in instruction 1 above.
Leg Straps :
If the chair is provided with leg straps, fasten double acting hook to leg “D” ensuring straps
are not twisted. Adjustment is as for waistband.

One person of maximum weight 130 kg to use this item at a one time.

The unit is to be withdrawn from service 10 years after manufacture. (The withdrawal
date is displayed on the label).

Inspect before each use and if faulty do not use the item until the fault has been
rectified. This item is only to be used in a safe and careful manner.
