Connecting the Interface Cables
Connect the interface cables to the system.
shows the location of the connectors.
The locations of the connectors are similar on the BlackPearl NAS solution 4U master node
and the BlackPearl NAS solution 2U master node.
IMPORTANT
Do not connect power cords at this time

• The types of connections available depend on your configuration.

information on connecting cables for a HotPair configuration.
Use the following steps to connect the interface cables to the BlackPearl NAS solution master
node.
1.
Connect a Category 5 Ethernet cable to the BlackPearl NAS solution management port on
the rear panel. Connect the other end of the cable to an active network over which a
computer can access the system. This connection is used to access the web interface.
Note:
The BlackPearl NAS solution management port is used to access the web interface
and cannot be used for data transfer. Use a separate Ethernet port for data traffic.
2.
Connect an Ethernet cable from your network switch to the appropriate connector
(10GBase-T or 10 GigE) on the rear panel of the master node (see
). This
connection provides host access to the RAID storage on the master node. If you plan to
configure link aggregation, connect additional cables as needed.
