TIME Mini Speaker Control Cable
The RJ45 pinout for the Cat 5 Cable is a straight through connection. Typically the following color convention is used:
It is important that Pin 1 of the Speaker Side connector and Pin 1 of the Controller Side connector are connected together. Same
for Pin 2, Pin 3, etc. so that all 8 pins of the Speaker Side connector are connected to the corresponding pin on the Controller Side
connector.

Equalization (EQ)
Use this control or the one on the remote to set the overall frequency balance of the subwoofer bass frequencies with the higher
frequencies of other speakers in the system, so that it suits the listening environment and the type of audio being played. Press the
Equalization button to select between Movie, Rock and Jazz in combination with various audio inputs. Repeatedly pressing the front
panel button on the TIME Mini Amp/Controller cycles through the available EQ settings. On the remote, simply press the EQ button
you desire.
Low Pass Filter (LPF)
Use this front panel control to adjust the high limit of the frequency range of the TIME Mini Amp/Controller’s Subwoofer output. Differ-
ent types of loudspeakers can produce signals inside the range of the subwoofer. In general the goal is to achieve a good crossover
point between the subwoofer and the rest of the loudspeakers in the system. If the speakers cannot reproduce very much low fre-
quency, then rotate this control to a higher frequency setting. If the main speakers are large and can reproduce lower frequencies,
then rotate this control to a lower setting.
Phase
This front panel control toggles the phase of the bass frequencies fed to the subwoofer between 0° and 180°. Press the Phase button
to try the two modes in combination with various audio materials. Choose the setting that offers the best presence and definition in
the Subwoofer output. In general, the best position will be the one that results in the heaviest bass output at your primary listening
location. You can do this from the listening location by using the remote control to switch between the two phase settings.
USING THE REMOTE TO CONTROL TIME MINI LOUDSPEAKER MOVEMENT
The remote control for the TIME Mini Subwoofer amplifier can control the TIME Mini Speakers manually so that they can be brought into
the room and retracted without audio present at the Amp/Controller. Simply press the UP button to retract the loudspeakers into the
ceiling and the DOWN button to lower the loudspeakers into the room. The speakers will retract automatically after about 2 minutes.
