Version 02/13
HDMI to VGA/YPbPr converter,
1080p
Item no. 98 93 51
Tips and Notes
• The monitor connected to the output of the converter must support the resolution provided by
the HDMI input.
If you feed in a 1080p signal, the monitor must be capable of displaying a resolution of
1920x1080 in 60 Hz. If this is not the case, a distorted image will be displayed or there will be
no image at all.
In this case, try using a monitor which supports such a high resolution. Alternatively, set a
lower resolution (e.g. 1280x720p) on your playback device.
• The converter does not depend on the operating system used. Furthermore, the converter
does not require any software or drivers.
• Should the playback device have several video outputs, ensure that the correct output is
enabled and provides an image.
Cleaning
Prior to cleaning the device, pull the wall plug transformer out of the mains socket.
Use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, as these can
cause discolouration. Do not press too strongly on the surface when cleaning, to prevent scratch
marks.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
Electrical and electronic devices do not constitute household waste.
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regula-
tions.

Connection and Getting Started
• Connect the HDMI socket (“HDMI Input”) of the converter to the HDMI output of a suitable
playback device (e.g. BluRay player) using an HDMI-compatible cable.
• Depending on whether you need a VGA signal or a YPbPr signal, connect the corresponding
cable provided to the VGA connector of the converter.
The cinch connectors of the VGA-YPbPr cable are marked in colours. During installation,
make absolutely sure you observe the correct allocation (green = Y, blue = Pb, red = Pr).
• The 3.5 mm jack socket provides both an analogue and an optical digital audio signal.
Depending on the signal you wish to use, connect either a conventional audio cable with
3.5 mm stereo jack plug or an optical cable.
An appropriate 3.5 mm adapter is included in the package for the optical cable with TOSLINK
plug.
• Connect the converter to a USB port of your computer or USB hub using the USB cable provided.
Due to the power consumption of the converter, this must be a USB port which can
deliver a current of 500 mA (e.g. a USB port of the computer or the USB port of a USB
hub with separate power supply).
• Make sure that the cables are not kinked or pinched.
• Switch on your monitor and your computer. Select the correct input on the monitor, if required.
• When the converter is supplied with power via the USB cable, a blue LED on the casing’s top
of the converter lights up.
