Locking and protecting your phone
MEID number
Every phone has a unique MEID (Mobile Equipment Identifier) number.
To view your MEID number

Turn off your phone, then remove the battery cover and battery.

Look for the 15- to 17-digit number on the label. The first 15 digits represent
the MEID number.
To view your MEID number in the phone
1
From your Home screen, tap .

Find and tap
Settings
>
About phone
>
Status
.

Scroll to
MEID
to view the
MEID
number.
UIM card protection
The UIM card lock only protects your subscription. Your phone will still work with a
new UIM card. If the UIM card lock is on, you have to enter a PIN (Personal Identity
Number). If you enter your PIN incorrectly more times than the maximum number of
attempts allowed, your UIM card will become blocked. You need to enter your PUK
(Personal Unblocking Key) and then a new PIN. Your PIN and PUK are supplied by
your network operator.
To enable the UIM card PIN lock

From the Home screen, tap .

Security
>
Set up UIM card lock
>
Lock UIM card

Enter the UIM card PIN and tap
OK
.
To change the UIM card PIN
1
From the Home screen, tap .

Find and tap
Settings
>
Security
>
Set up UIM card lock
>
Change UIM PIN
.

Enter the old UIM card PIN and tap
OK
.

Enter the new UIM card PIN and tap
OK
.
5
Re-type the new UIM card PIN and tap
OK
