Web-based Interface
This feature allows users to access the XDCAM Archive
system content over a LAN or internet VPN using a standard
web browser.
• Web interface supports all key functions such as Ingest,
Catalog, Storyboard Creation, Archive, Search, Export, and
system administration
File Exchange and Distribution
The XDCAM Archive system is designed for flexible and
efficient exchange of both online and offline files.
• Files placed in the import hot folders are registered in the
XDCAM Archive system automatically after the extracted
metadata and proxy are generated; hot folders support
predefined category assignments for quick search results
and self management
• Exports content to production systems, FTP devices, and
users over a secure internet VPN connection
• Distributes content by copying one or more clips and/or
files to physical XDCAM Professional Disc media
Online/Offl ine Archive Management
The XDCAM Archive system organizes and displays online
storage as virtual XDCAM discs for easy archive
management.
• User-friendly GUIs allow content to be
archived or copied to physical XDCAM
Professional Discs
• The XDCAM Professional Disc media is a
widely accepted, highly durable 50-year
rated optical disc (based on Sony
accelerated testing)
• Supports a backup copy and retrieve function for offsite
disaster recovery purposes
• View online virtual disc metadata including format and
capacity status
• Add/modify archive groups
• Arranges online media
Online Streaming Proxy
Lightweight streaming H.264 proxies allow users to quickly
preview thousands of hours of online and offline content.
• Easy-to-read metadata such as barcode ID, material title,
material type, document, audio, video, etc
• Quick filters based on conditions such as content type,
time, date, category, etc
• Batch catalog of content means users can edit the
metadata of several clips at the same time

The XDCAM Archive system is compatible with various media
