Troubleshooting

Symptom

Cause/Remedy

Songs are played back 

within a limited playback 

range only, such as within 

one folder.

 The playback range is limited in the play mode (

 

page 22).

 Change the play mode setting.

Data cannot be deleted 

on the player.

 You cannot delete songs on the player.

 Delete them in Windows Explorer.

Noise is generated.

 A device emitting radio signals, such as a mobile 

phone is being used near the player.

 When using a device such as a mobile phone, 

keep it away from the player.

 Audio data from CDs, etc., is damaged.

 Connect the player to the computer and delete 

any songs generating noise in Windows Explorer, 

and then import and transfer them to the player 

again. When importing audio data, close any 

other applications to avoid data damage.

Buttons do not work.

 The HOLD switch is set to the direction of the 

arrow (

).

 Slide the HOLD switch to the opposite direction 

of the arrow (

 page 11).

 Style-Up® Panel is not attached to the player 

properly.

 Attach the Style-Up® Panel properly (

 page 8).

 The player contains moisture condensation.

 Wait a few hours to let the player dry.

 The remaining battery is low or insufficient.

 Charge the battery by connecting to a running 

computer (

 page 13).

 If you charge the battery and nothing changes, 

press the RESET button to reset the player (

 

page 62).

 While “DATA ACCESS” is being displayed, you 

cannot operate the player. Disconnect the USB 

connection, and then operate the player.

Playback does not stop.

 With this player, there is no difference between 

stopping and pausing. When you press the 



 

button, 

 appears and playback pauses/stops.

The player does not work.

 The remaining battery is insufficient.

 Charge the battery by connecting to a running 

computer (
