Getting help

My microphone is too sensitive to background noise

If you find there is too much background noise when you record sound, you can adjust the microphone gain.

To adjust the microphone settings, proceed as follows:

In the

Control Panel

, choose

Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices

Click

Sounds and Audio Devices

The

Sounds and Audio Devices Properties

box appears.

Click the

Voice

tab.

Under

Voice recording

, click

Volume

The

Recording Control

dialog box appears.

In the

Options

menu, select

Properties

The

Properties

dialog box appears.

Change the setting in the

Adjust volume for

dialog box from

Playback

Recording

, and then click

Reduce the microphone level by moving the slider control.

In the

Options

menu, select

Advanced Controls

, and then click the

Advanced

button under

Microphone - Balance

The

Advanced Controls for Microphone

dialog box appears.

Deselect the

Microphone Boost

check box, and then click

Close

Close the

Recording Control

dialog box.

The unwanted noise should now be cleared.
