STR-ZA3100ES/STR-ZA2100ES/STR-ZA1100ES

Enjoying sound from a TV compatible with eARC or ARC (Enhanced Audio Return
Channel/Audio Return Channel)

If your TV supports the eARC or ARC function, set the receiver by the following procedure to output the sound of the TV
from the speakers connected to the receiver.
When TV input is selected while [Input Mode] is set to [Auto], priority is given to eARC or ARC signals.

If you connect to a TV that is not compatible with the eARC or ARC function or you want to select
an audio signal using a cable other than an HDMI cable (e.g. via an optical digital cable or an audio
cable)

Select [Setup] - [Input Setup] - [Input Mode] and switch the audio input mode.

Note

Be sure to turn off the volume of the TV or activate the muting function of the TV.

If your TV does not support the System Audio Control function, set [Audio Out] to [TV + AMP] in the [HDMI Setup] menu to output
the sound of the TV from the TV speaker and the speakers connected to the receiver.

If your TV has a similar menu for eARC, also check the relevant settings on the TV when you select [eARC] or [ARC] for [Audio
Return Channel] on the receiver. For details, refer to the operating instructions of the TV.

Select the setting you want.

eARC:

The eARC function is available.

When you connect an eARC-compatible TV to the receiver, the eARC function is activated. When you connect a
TV that is compatible with ARC (but not compatible with eARC), the ARC function is activated.
The sound of the TV connected to the receiver via the HDMI OUT A jack is output from the receiver when TV
input is selected.

ARC:

The ARC function is available. The eARC function is not available.

When you connect a TV compatible with eARC or ARC, the ARC function is activated.
The sound of the TV connected to the receiver via the HDMI OUT A jack is output from the receiver when TV
input is selected.

Off:

Neither the eARC nor the ARC function will be activated, even if you connect a TV compatible with eARC

or ARC.
The sound of the TV connected to the receiver via the HDMI OUT A jack is not output from the receiver even
when TV input is selected.
