• The indicator changes according to the strength
of GPS signal reception. The icon displayed on
the screen varies according to the strength of
signal reception from GPS satellites.
• [GPS SETTING] is set to [ON] by default.
Position information and time information are
recorded with the video when the GPS function
is on. If you do not want to record position
information, set [GPS SETTING] to [OFF].
• If a triangulating icon is not displayed after
several minutes, there may be a problem with
signal reception. You can start shooting without
position information, or move to an area with a
clear view of the sky. Shooting when a
triangulating icon is not displayed means that
position information will not be recorded.
• The GPS signal may not be received when
indoors or near tall structures. Move to a location
with a clear view of the sky.
• The recording of position information may be
interrupted, depending on the strength of the
received signal, even if a triangulating icon is
displayed.
• If a GPS signal received is reflected off
buildings or other structures, or the received
GPS signal strength is weak, there may be an
error of up to several hundred meters in the
position information.
Displaying position information
using the data code function
To display recorded position information
during playback, select
(DISPLAY
SET) t [DATA CODE] t
[COORDINATES] in the menu.
The latitude and longitude appear in the
bottom left of the screen.
