Separating the Cabinet
(Models KP-65WS510, KDP-65WS550)
This flyer provides instructions on the separation of the projection TV cabinet.
IMPORTANT: This projection TV weighs over 300 pounds and has many delicate internal components.
Transportation, disassembly, and reassembly should be done by authorized Sony Dealers and Service Personnel ONLY.
DISASSEMBLY

Using a screwdriver with a philips or a 1/4" hex-head bit,
unscrew the eight screws located on the rear panel of the
TV's cabinet.

Being careful not to contact the CRT projection
assembly, remove the back panel.

Using an open-end or socket 7/16" wrench, unfasten the
14 bolts located inside the cabinet, where the top and
bottom portion of the cabinet meet.

Disconnect the wire harness connector, located to
the right of the CRT assembly.

eing careful not to contact the CRT assembly, slide
the top portion of the cabinet back slightly.

Lift the top portion of the cabinet directly up. It should
separate easily.
Notes on Disassembly and Reassembly
The disassembly procedure requires at least 2 people.
The CRT projection assembly is exposed during the separation of the cabinet. Be careful to ensure that the top
portion of the cabinet does not contact the CRT projection assembly.
You will need the following tools for this procedure: a screwdriver with either a philips or a 1/4" hex-head bit;
an open-end or socket 7/16" wrench.

ATTENTION:
The reassembly process is the reverse of the disassembly process.
IMPORTANT:
When reassembling the cabinet, first fasten the two bolts on each side of the CRT
assembly (see step 3 ) to ensure that the top and bottom portions of the cabinet are aligned properly.
IMPORTANT:
When reassembling the cabinet, make sure that the the wire harness is
reconnected (see step 4 ). If this is not done, the TV's Flash Focus feature will not function.
IMPORTANT:
Avoid contacting the
CRT assembly when separating or
reattaching the top and bottom
portions of the cabinet.
