Clear the menu, then press the control button

). The spot light-metering cross
hair appears on the LCD screen. You can adjust the exposure (spot light-metering) for
the point that you want to record, when there is a backlight or when there is a strong
contrast between the subject and the background. Position the point that you want to
record on the spot light-metering cross hair. To cancel spot light-metering, press the
control button

) again.
Set the MACRO switch to ON. The
(macro) indicator appears on the LCD screen.
You can record a subject as close as about 15 cm (6 inches) to 19 cm (7 1/2 inches).
0.2 m is indicated on the camera as the approximate recording distance. Use this
function to record a small subject, such as a flower or insect, at close range.
Notes
•
After finishing recording in macro, return the MACRO switch to OFF. If you leave the MACRO
switch set to ON, the camera may not be able to focus on distant subjects or the image may
become dark when you use the flash.
•
When recording images in macro, use the LCD screen. If you record using the finder, the range
visible in the finder may differ from the actual recording range.
