WARNING
• This Speed Board is designed for use with AIBO only.
Do not place a heavy object on the Speed Board or sit or step on it. You may damage the Speed
Board or fall from the board and injure yourself.
• The Speed Board is not intended for children under 8 years of age.
• Do not wrap the belt around your neck as this may cause you to choke.
• AIBO should be attached to or detached from the Speed Board under the supervision of an adult
with knowledge of the proper procedures.

Operating Instructions
On cleaning
• When the Speed Board gets dirty, wipe it with a dry soft cloth or tissue. If the dirt is stubborn,
wipe it with a soft cloth slightly moistened with a mild detergent solution, and then with a dry
cloth.
• To prevent adversely affecting the Speed Board's material or paint surface, do not use volatile
solvents such as alcohol, paint thinner, or benzene.
• When using a chemically treated cloth to clean the board, follow the precautions included with
the cloth.
• Spraying the Speed Board with volatile substances such as insecticide, or prolonged contact
between the Speed Board and rubber or vinyl material may adversely affect the Speed Board's
material or paint surface.
Attaching AIBO to the Speed Board
Before attaching AIBO
Insert the “Memory Stick” containing the “AIBO Speed Boarder” AIBO-ware dedicated for AIBO
Speed Board into AIBO. Then attach AIBO to the Speed Board while AIBO is in pause mode (i.e.,
before pressing the pause button on its chest).
For details on how to insert the “Memory Stick” into AIBO, refer to the user's guide supplied with
the “AIBO Speed Boarder” AIBO-ware.

Unfasten the lock on the reverse side of the Speed Board.

Mount AIBO in the proper position*, and then fasten the lock on the
bottom side of the Speed Board.
* Match the projecting part on the Speed Board with the concave part on AIBO’s stomach
area, and then grasp AIBO on the back and move it back and forth to make sure AIBO is
securely attached and does not move.

Attach the adapter.

Fasten the belt, securing AIBO to the board.
After attaching AIBO
Press the pause button on AIBO’s chest.
Wait a while until the chest light (operation light) lights green and AIBO starts to move under the
control of the “AIBO Speed Boarder” AIBO-ware dedicated for AIBO Speed Board.

Refer to the user’s guide supplied with “AIBO Speed Boarder.”
When not playing with the Speed Board
Remove AIBO from the Speed Board.
If you want to display AIBO while it is on the Speed Board, be sure to keep the Speed Board
upright, with the wheels facing downward, and secure it with the supplied board stand.
Note
To keep the tire rubber from deformation or damage, do not leave the Speed Board upside down or leaning
against something.
When transporting or storing the Speed Board
Remove AIBO from the Speed Board and put the Speed Board in the box that it originally came in
to protect it from damage.
Replacing the grips
Pull out the grips with force from the handle to remove them.
To attach the grips, push them against the handle, screwing them in place by your hand.

Notes on use
On location for use and storage
The Speed Board may suffer damage at the places described below.
• Outdoors, especially on an incline
Avoid use of the Speed Board in such places as this may cause an accident or malfunction of the
Speed Board.
• Extremely hot places
Do not use or store the Speed Board in places subject to direct sunlight or near heating
equipment. Leaving it in direct sunlight or in a car parked in the sun may deform or damage the
board.
• Places subject to severe vibrations
• Places subject to strong magnetic fields
• Gritty places such as gravelly earth or a sand beach
Keep the Speed Board away from grit from a beach, gravelly earth, or places with air-borne grit as
this may damage the board, possibly rendering it irreparable.
On usage
• The Speed Board is for exclusive use with the AIBO ERS-210 series and 220 series.
• To prevent AIBO from toppling off, be sure to use the belt to fasten AIBO to the board.
• Do not move the handle or wheels by force, whether AIBO is on the Speed Board or not. Do not
twist or apply strong physical force to the Speed Board as this may damage the board.
• The Speed Board may encounter difficulty moving on a carpet.
• When you lift the Speed Board, hold the board with both of your hands. Do not lift it by the
handle or by a wheel.
• Do not drop the Speed Board or subject it to strong physical shock.
• Do not allow the Speed Board to get wet.
