INSTALL ATION
To install the appliance:
1. Place the appliance on a stable, flat, and heat and moisture resistant surface.
2. Place the
bean container

on the appliance. Rotate until the bean container locks
in place.
3. Plug the
power cable

into a power outlet.
4. Press the power button

to switch on the appliance.
The appliance is ready for use when the cup extraction buttons

continuously light
up white.

BEFORE FIRST USE (WATER FILTER C ARTRIDGE)
Before first use, clean the appliance as described in section Daily maintenance .

If you don’t want to use a water filter, you can leave the appliance on default settings.
You can skip the following steps in this section.
To place and configure the water filter:
1. Hold the
test strip

briefly in a glass of tap water.
2. Read the measured water quality on the test strip

3. Rotate the selector at the bottom of the
water filter cartridge

to the optimal
position.
Position A For use with soft water.
Position B
For use with medium hard water.
Position C For use with hard water.
4. Hold the
water filter cartridge

in a container with water.
5. Gently squeeze the water filter cartridge

to remove air bubbles from the filter.
6. Insert the
water filter cartridge

into the bracket in the
water tank

with the
selector facing downwards.
7. Fill the
water tank

with water up to the MAX marking.
8. Press the programming button

to enter the settings menu.
9. Press the
steaming function button

to enter the filter settings.
10. Press the single cup extraction button

to set the filter setting to
YES
.
11. Place a container (min. 0.14 gal) underneath the
brewing head

12. Press the programming button

to exit the settings menu. The rinsing process
starts automatically.
