Chapter 11 – Post Processing
11.1 Post
Processing
The purpose of this section of the manual is to describe the procedure for removing a model
from 3Z Base and for removing the 3ZSupport material from a finished model made of 3ZModel.
This process is also known as "de-waxing". Adherence to this procedure is critical if the best
possible dimensional accuracy is to be maintained in the finished model. The following sections
describe one method and a CIMERAC brand Heater Stirrer to complete the dewaxing process.
It is not the only method .However; it has been tested within the Solidscape facilities and proven
successful.

Setup
Turn on the Heater Stirrer and set its temperature control to the prescribed setting for the
type of heater stirrer you are using (95°C - 100°C for Cimarec). Clean the glass bowl
used for the solvent bath of any loose debris and fill approximately 2/3rds full with fresh
VSO (or enough that bottom of the basket strainer is below the bath surface sufficiently
enough to fully cover the models). This bath may be used to dewax several models
