Appendix D

GSR2700 ISX Operations Manual

D.4 Windows Driver Signing

These drivers have not been certified by Microsoft’s Windows
Hardware Quality Lab (WHQL). Depending on how your
administrator has configured your computer, Windows 2000 or
XP will do one of the following:

• Ignore device drivers that are not digitally signed.

• Display a warning when the operating system detects device

drivers that are not digitally signed (this is the default).

• Prevent you from installing device drivers without digital

signatures.

Because the USB drivers are not digitally signed, the computer’s
policy must be either “Ignore” or “Warn” in order for you to
install the drivers.

To change the Driver Signing Policy:

In the Windows Control Panel, double-click

System

Select the

Hardware

tab.

Click

<Driver Signing>

In the

Driver Signing

dialog box, select either

Ignore

Warn

as the action for Windows to take for unsigned driver
software.

Click

<OK>

to accept the new policy.

Click

<OK>

to close the

System Properties

dialog box.

Disconnect the receiver USB cable, reconnect it, then follow
the installation instructions in Section D.2,
