System Setup

Use a serial PC Data cable to connect the PC to the receiver’s

4.2
Setting Up for Field Operations
The GSR2700 IS can be used for static or kinematic surveys, as
well as for real-time kinematic (RTK) surveys as a base or rover.
This section provides an overview of the equipment and setup
for typical uses of the system.
4.2.1
Typical RTK rover setup
A typical rover RTK setup consists of a range pole, GSR2700 IS
receiver with internal GSM or UHF radio, and data controller. If
you use a Bluetooth connection to communicate between the data
controller and the receiver, you do not require any cables at all.
Typical rover setups include using one of the following to receive
corrections:
• Internal UHF radio
• Internal GSM/GPRS radio used in one-to-one mode (for
example, one GSR2700 IS receiver to another)
• Internal GSM/GPRS radio used via the Internet (for example,
to a GSR2700 RS, or NTRIP base station)
