Network Discovery

Function keys
In the
Network Discovery
test, LinkXpert lists all network nodes
visible in the specified search range.
The table shows the MAC and IP address of the nodes with associated
station name.
Prerequisite is that the device can connect to the network and has a
valid IP address, see also
Link Status , Network , DHCP for all
media and WLAN Global Configuration
Function keys: (Tools module only)
1. Back one menu level higher
2. Settings
- IPV4 or IPV6
- Listen" or "Scan" mode
The device can passively "listen" on the network or actively
scan for devices.
The advantage of the passive mode is that LinkXpert itself does
not send IP packets, the disadvantage of the passive mode is
that devices may be found late or not at all.
In active mode LinkXpert communicates with the network and
finds devices faster.
