Installing the Eye Bolts
Hanging the Footrests
Locate the ceiling beam/joist by using a stud finder or tapping
and verifying with a small nail. Be sure to locate the exact
center of the ceiling joist for the most secure installation.
Using a 3/16” (3mm) wood drill bit, drill a starter hole
(approx. 4”
or 10 cm deep) perpendicular to the ceiling.
Screw in the supplied eye bolts until all threads have
disappeared into the joist. Do not loosen or adjust once in
place.
Caution:
We highly recommend using only a gentle to and fro
motion. Swinging or spinning could loosen the eye bolts from
the ceiling joist and compromise the sturdiness. We highly
recommend hanging the loveseat no more than 18” above the
ground and not exceeding a maximum weight
recommendation of 550 pounds.
When hanging the loveseat, be sure the ropes are not tangled
or caught behind the spreader bars. The ropes must be free
and clear when lifting the loveseat.
With a person on each side, lift the loveseat and connect the
S-hooks (provided in the hardware kit) to the eye bolts in the
ceili
ng beam (or frame if that’s what you’re using to hang the
loveseat). If the eye bolts are too high, use the chains
(provided in the hardware kit) to bridge the gap between the
eye bolts and the S-hooks.
Note: images used to illustrate this section are of the wooden loveseat; the instructions apply to
both models
—
wooden and wicker.
1. To hang the footrests, use the third
spreader bar containing two smaller eye bolts
in the middle of the bar (position them facing
down) and two larger eye bolts on the ends of
the bar (when the smaller eye bolts are
positioned facing down, the larger eye bolts
will face up).
