IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Basic safety precautions should always be taken when using electrical appliances,
these include:
1. Read the instructions through before using for the first time.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Always use oven gloves or pot holders when lifting the
lid or taking out the pot as hot steam will escape.
3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
4. To protect against fire, electric shock and personal injury never immerse the
cord, plugs or appliance in water or any other liquid.
5. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the work surface or touch anything
hot.
6. Never use an appliance when the cord or plug is damaged, if it is not working
properly or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the
nearest authorised service centre for control, repair or adjustment.
7. The use of accessories not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may
cause fire, electrical shock or injury.
8. Never use outdoors.
9. Never place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated
oven.
10. Extreme caution is essential when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other
hot liquids. Always use pot holders when moving your slow cooker.
11. Do not use the appliance for other than the intended use.
12. Avoid sudden temperature changes. For example, do not put deep frozen foods
direct into a heated pot.
13. To disconnect, press the ON/OFF button then remove the plug. Always hold the
plug to remove it, never tug at the cord.

This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. There are no user-serviceable parts
inside. There are no parts requiring greasing or oiling. Never try to service this product
yourself. Never immerse the base in water or any other liquid! A short power-supply
lead is provided to reduce the risk of accidents due to a tangled cord or tripping over
a longer cord. An extension cord may only be used when the marked electrical rating
is at least the equivalent of the appliance rating. The extension cord should be placed
so it cannot hang over the counter or table top, is out of reach for small children and
cannot be tripped over. The technical specifications of this appliance are shown on the
panel on the underside of the unit.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturers, an
authorised service agent or a qualified electrician to avoid any risk of shock.
Note:
During initial use a trace of smoke and/or a slight smell may be detected. This
is normal with appliances producing heat and will not recur after the slow cooker has
been used a few times.
