While depressing the DC safety switch button, pull the
ON/OFF switch lever toward you. Once the machine
powers on, release the safety switch button and begin
operation (Fig. 14). The machine can only be started by
depressing the switch button first, followed by squeezing
the ON/OFF switch lever; reverse operation will not start
the machine.

If you are switching to AC mode, be sure to remove
the battery before starting.
If you are using AC power mode:
1.
Use only a UL-rated extension cord recommended for
outdoor use. Refer to the Extension Cord Chart on page 5.
2.
Push a loop of the extension cord through the slot on the
cord lock from the opposite side of the restraint hook.
Position the loop over the hook and pull the cable back
through the slot (Fig. 15).

Insert the female end of the extension cord into the
appliance's polarized male plug (Fig. 16).

Note that the snow blower has a polarized male plug –
one prong in the plug is slightly longer and wider than the
other (Fig. 17). The extension cord female end should be
likewise polarized so that the extension cord fits snugly
into the appliance plug.
5.
Press the AC safety switch button found on the outside of
the switch housing (Fig. 18).
