SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
•
Place the tank on a flat surface that is not subject
to erosion. Install tank on compacted soils, sand,
pea gravel, or concrete with a depth of at least
4 inches. Reinforced concrete support pads are
recommended. Verify the area beneath the tank
is free of sharp rocks and other objects that could
cut into the tank and cause leakage over time.
• Place the tank where possible leakage would
not cause contamination/pollution to surrounding
areas. Locate tanks in a well‑drained area that is
not subject to flooding, as tanks have been known
to shift as heavy rains wash away the fill.
• Anchor all outdoor vertical tanks to the ground
as facilitated by the tie-down connectors on the
tank. Secure the vertical tank assemblies in place
without bulging or looking deformed.
• Keep all valves closed when tanks are not in use
or not under direct supervision.
•
Keep forklifts and other large equipment away
from tank.
•
Do not use vertical tanks for transport; VTA is
meant for stationary storage and should be tied
down accordingly.
•
Vent all tanks for atmospheric pressure as well
as pressure created by filling and emptying the
tank. Do not fill or empty a tank without adequate
venting. Keep vent clear of any ice or snow that
may restrict venting.
•
Do not overtighten poly fittings. This could result in
damage to the fittings and result in leakage.
•
Inspect tanks, gaskets, fittings, hoses, pumps, and
valves regularly. Watch for signs of leakage and
tampering.
CAUTION
Use standard methods and practices
when attaching and installing accessories,
including proper personal protective safety
equipment.
CAUTION
Read this document before installing the 3000
or 5000 gallon vertical tank assembly.
•
Never enter a tank without taking proper safety
precautions; serious injury or death could occur.
Always follow OSHA regulations when working on
or around tank systems.
• Do not use portable ladders to access the tank.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1.
Connect the external hose from the Brine Pro™
discharge pump to the 2" bulkhead fitting located at
the bottom of the tank.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
If leaving the tank unattended, verify there is a
mechanism for stopping the outflow from the external
holding tank and verify that it is engaged to avoid
excessive brine leakage.
If the check valve on the exterial device malfunctions,
backflow can occur, resulting in excessive brine
leakage.
