Appendix A. Conversion Operational Examples
A.1 MC500 Frame Rate Conversion
Example
You have received content at 1080 59i and need to convert it to 1080 50i with an additional
audio delay of 100 ms to correct for an upstream error.
Steps
1.
On the rear panel, connect the SDI source (1080 59i) to SDI In 1.
2.
On the front panel, press the INPUT Shortcut button.
3.
Choose Input Select > SDI 1, then select Done.
4.
Press the HOME button.
5.
Verify that the status display shows “1080 59i” as the input. If the status display shows
“input loss”, review steps 1 to 3 to ensure you have correctly connected and routed
the source.
6.
Press the OUTPUT Shortcut button.
7.
Select Output Standard > 1080 50i, then select Done.
8.
Press the HOME button.
9.
Verify that the status display shows the correct input and output.
10. Press the AUDIO Shortcut button.
11. Select Control > Audio Delay.
12. Rotate the Control knob clockwise until the delay slider shows 100 ms. Alternatively,
enter
100
using on the Alphanumeric buttons.
13. Select Done.
Note:
In steps 1 to 3 you have routed the input from SDI In 1 to the processing channel.
Note:
In steps 6 and 7 you have set up conversion to HD 1080 50i on the processing channel.
