M2 Scope/Meter
M2 Scope/Meter Remote Operation
Remote Working Range / Communication Screens
When the M2 Scope/Meter Rotary Switch is positioned in the Remote Functions position and the
Diagnostic Tool is turned on, a communication indicator screen is displayed. One of two screens
are used to indicate the current communication status of the M2 Scope/Meter:
The working range of the transmitter is about 30 feet (9.14 m). A signal lost due to moving out of
range automatically restores itself when the Diagnostic Tool is brought closer to the M2 Scope/
Meter. The M2 Scope/Meter will sound an audible alarm “beep” and the Diagnostic Tool will
display a warning message when the signal is lost
A red graphic image indicates that the devices are paired, but not communicating (
).
If the two devices are out of range of each other, the paired, not communicating screen displays
on the M2 Scope/Meter and a message displays on the Diagnostic Tool. This is a self-correcting
condition, simply bring the two units closer together and the communications link will reestablish
itself momentarily.

A blue graphic image indicates that the devices are paired, and communicating (
).
When the M2 Scope/Meter function is selected on the Diagnostic Tool, the M2 screen changes to
indicate the devices are communicating. A screen with a blue graphic image indicates the two
paired devices are connected and capable of communicating with each other.
