Failure Main
cause
Action
1. Unsuitable speed
controller was
selected.
●
Use an appropriate speed contoller whose size is
suitable to the desired speed.
10. Cylinder
speed cannot
be controlled
by speed
controller
2. Defective speed
controller
●
Replace it.
1. Cylinder speed is
too
slow.
●
Use air hydro, hydro checker, etc. when using
cylinder at a speed below the operating speed limit
range.
2. No cylinder force is
left.
●
Even slight changes in external force may affect the
speed so it cannot operate smoothly. Provide extra
cylinder force.
11.“Stick-slip”
in cylinder
operation
3. Meter-out circuit is
not used.
●
Meter-in circuit may cause unstable operation when
the cylinder is operated at low pressure and low
speed. Adjust the speed with meter-out circuit.
12. Cylinder
operates
suddenly the
first time after
operation has
been stopped
for a long
period of
time.
1.There is a difference
in the pressure left in
the cylinder between
continuous operation
and operration after
stopping for a long
period of time.
●
When a cylinder is stopped partway through a
stroke with a closed centre type 3 position valve, it is
normal that a small amount of air leaks outside from
the inside of cylinder. Although there will be no large
difference in pressure left inside the cylinder when
the cylinder is restarted in a short period of time, the
cylinder operates suddenly after stopping for a long
period of time due to a decrease in the pressure left
inside the cylinder, which eliminates the operation
resistance. In this case, consider using a valve to
prevent sudden extension of the cylinder .
