Connecting Output Devices to the X-Port 30 Unit
The X-Port 30 unit can send the video signal to three destination devices: the console and two
other external devices. For information on connecting the console, see page 24. External
devices can be a room projection system or an auxiliary video device, such as a monitor. The
X-Port 30 unit sends the same signal to each
video device, regardless of its port number.
However, it can send either balanced or unbalanced audio to an audio output device, such as
a room sound system.
NOTE: The necessary cables for connecting these output devices aren’t supplied with the
IM-150.
To connect external output devices
1 Connect the male HD DB15 end of an RGB cable to the female external video port on the
X-Port 30 unit connection panel.
2 Connect the other end of the RGB cable to the device.
The type of connection at the other end depends on your output device.
3 Connect either RCA connectors (for unbalanced audio signals) or XLR audio cables (for
balanced audio signals) to the X-Port 30 unit audio ports. Connect the other end of these
cables to your room audio system.

Integrating the X-Port 30 Unit with a Room Control System
If your X-Port 30 unit has the correct firmware version (1.11), you can control the source
switching of the IM-150 using any third-party room control system. This section defines the
commands used to program a third-party room control system interface for the X-Port 30 unit.
For information about obtaining the correct firmware, call Technical Support.
Begin by programming the room control system for the X-Port 30 unit, using the data format
information in the following section. Then ensure that your RS-232 cable has the correct
protocol parameter definition and pin assignment (see page 31). Finally, connect this cable to
the room control system port (or flash port) on the connection panel of the X-Port 30 unit.
You can check the controllability of your X-Port 30 unit by using a terminal.exe program.
