7.4 Gyroscope Calibration
In the event that Horizon were to operate in environments with strong magnetic field
variations (presence of ferrous metal structures, artificial magnetic fields), in environments
at temperatures very distant from the standard environmental temperature of 20 ° C / 68 °
F, or if during a whip pan it will lose the “horizon”, it may be necessary to perform a quick
recalibration of the internal gyroscope.
To activate the gyro calibration, simply guarantee Horizon a stable static position (if
installed on a sled, simply place it on the docking bracket) and press the command button
four times .
Horizon will enter calibration mode showing this status with a low frequency flash of the
command button. Once the procedure is complete, the command button will stop flashing
and Horizon will emit severe acoustic feedback.
If the system will not exit from calibration (continuous blinking state), it means that the
Horizon is not resting completely still.
