Replacing a Battery Gasket
CAUTION
Damaged gaskets must
be replaced.

The black battery compartment gasket is accessible with the battery cover removed.
The gasket is secured by hook features on the outside of the gasket wall and matching
loop features on the gasket (Figure 50).

To replace the battery gasket follow the steps below.
1.
Remove the old gasket by rolling it off the wall at each of the hook and loop
locations.
2.
Clean the gasket wall with a lint free cloth to remove any oil and debris.
3.
Place the replacement gasket over the gasket wall. The loop features on the
gasket line up with the matching hook features on the gasket wall when the
gasket is properly oriented.
4.
Fit the loops over the hooks in eight (8) places (Figure 51).
