2 DESCRIPTION
The CUMEO is our lightweight interpretation of the CHILI concept. Our glider for perfor-
mance-driven XC pilots, who prefer to set their turning points off the beaten path, is so
light that you won’t need a cable car when your big day comes. The lightweight materials
of Porcher Marine are applied to reduce weight only in areas not felt by the XC pilot.
That is why the CUMEO is just as solid in the air as its »heavy« brother and has the same
balanced characteristics. You’ll feel the difference - in the backpack on the way to launch
or in the baggage net of the train on the long way back from your epic flight.
PILOT REQUIREMENTS
The CUMEO’s high level of performance and its forgiving handling make it suitable for am-
bitious thermal flyers and XC pilots, as well as for those moving up a class who already have
experience with lower level gliders. The CUMEO is not suitable for novices nor for those who
fly infrequently.
SCOPE OF DELIVERY
The CUMEO comes standard with inner bag, compression strap, glider backpack,
riser bag and manual.
CAUTION
THE FIRST FLIGHT MUST BE CARRIED OUT BY A QUALIFIED EXPERT.
THE TYPE CERTIFICATE AND THE DATE OF THE FACTORY INSPECTION
CAN BE FOUND IN THE MIDDLE CELL OF THE GLIDER.
THE DATE OF THE FIRST FLIGHT AND NAME OF THE PILOT SHOULD
BE ENTERED HERE. SHOULD THIS BE MISSING, ASSUME THAT THIS GLIDER
IS A PROTOTYPE THAT HAS NOT BEEN TESTED.

JET FLAPS
Each of our gliders is equipped with skywalk’s patented JET FLAP technology. Air is
conducted from the bottom of the wing (pressure area) to the top of the wing (vacuum
area) and is blown out there with a higher speed. The connection is established through
jet shaped channels located toward the back of the wing. The addition air mass on the
top of the wing delays the flow separation. The stall occurs later, the minimum flyable
speed is lower, and the pilot has more reserve in the angle of attack. This is especially
important in phases such as takeoff and landing. The JET FLAPS also help to improve
climb performance since they allow you to circle very slowly in thermals with little danger.
The glider can be flown normally as the JET FLAPS don’t require any special control
technique.
