Assembly
10.
Place the flywheel on top of the lower bearing (see figure 4). Look through the hole
in the center of the flywheel to see that the flywheel is positioned directly on top of the
bearing.
11.
Slide the upper bearing on the shaft with the set screws on the bottom side.
12.
Slide the shaft through the flywheel, then the lower bearing making sure it slides
into the lower bearing. CAUTION: IF THE SHAFT DOES NOT SLIDE THROUGH AND
SIT PROPERLY, REMOVE AND REPEAT INSTRUCTIONS FROM STEP 8. Make sure
the shaft is all the way through the bottom bearing but not pushed so far as to rub on the
bottom bearing bar. If the shaft is not all the way through the bearing, the flywheel will
move sideways and make a knocking sound. If the shaft touches the bottom bearing
bar, the wheel will make a heaving motion. You might have to look under the flywheel
between the bearing and lower pipe to make sure the bottom of the shaft is visible, but
not touching the bottom pipe.
13.
Using 4 flat washers, attach the upper bearing to the angle iron in this order -- bolt,
washer, bearing, angle iron, washer, and nut.
14.
Tighten the set screws on the flywheel securely.

. Attach the wood seat to the inner seat post with the 2 short flat head machine
screws and wing nuts. Four wedges are provided if you wish to have the seat tilt slightly
forward. Use 2 wedges between the wood and the metal plate, and 2 wedges under the
metal plate to allow the wing nut to tighten firmly against the wedge at the correct angle
(see figure 3).
