TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSES SOLUTION
No LED light on the front panel
/ Set top box will not turn ON.
The AC power adapter may be disconnected. Ensure proper connection of the AC power adapter
into the back of SKIPPA and into the AC mains.
Ensure the mains supply is on.
No Picture or Sound. 1. The Audio/Video (AV) between SKIPPA and
the TV input terminal is incorrectly connected.
2. TV or SKIPPA has been set to MUTE (if no
sound).
3. Digital connection (optical cable) between
SKIPPA and the home theatre system/ampli-
fier might have been wrongly selected (if no
sound).
4. HDMI/AV cable is damaged.
5. No signal or weak signal from the antenna.
6. Check signal strength and quality in Chan-
nel settings by selecting the button.
1. Ensure proper connection of the antenna cable into
the ANTENNA IN. Ensure type of connection (AV or
HDMI) matches the input (AV or HDMI) terminals of
the TV. Select this particular input as the source on
the TV / home theatre system (i.e. AV1, AV2, HDMI1,
HDMI2, etc.).
2. Disable MUTE on TV or SKIPPA .
3. Ensure that the digital input (i.e. OPT1, OPT2,
etc.) selected on the home theatre system/amplifier
matches the actual connection of the optical cable.
4. Replace with new HDMI/AV cable.
5. Ensure proper connection of the antenna cable into
the ANTENNA IN.
6. Adjust the direction of the antenna or call your local
TV antenna installer.
Picture Freezing. 1. Live TV is paused.
2. No signal or weak signal from the antenna.
3. Check signal strength and quality in Chan-
nel settings by selecting the button.
1. Press PLAY button to resume watching.
2. Ensure proper connection of the antenna cable
into the ANTENNA IN.
3. Adjust the direction of the antenna or call your
local TV antenna installer.
Remote Control Unit is not
working.
1. Batteries are depleted.
2. Remote Control is being operated beyond
the guaranteed performance levels.
1. Replace with new batteries.
2. Ensure Remote Control is operated up to 6 metres
and up to 30 degrees left/right from the centre of the
set top box and without obstruction.
SKIPPA freezes (not respond-
ing).
Internal CPU and or memory corruption. Try unplugging the AC mains or disconnect the
power supply adapter at the back of the set top box.
This will reset the set top box and re-starts the boot
up sequence.
Event is PG blocked / Channel
blocked.
Parental control is set. Key in PG PIN.
Can’t play video, music or
photos from external USB
device.
1. USB device is not properly inserted.
2. Video or Music format is not supported by
the SKIPPA media player.
1. Try re-plugging the USB device into the socket
and check if external USB is detected via Menu
Settings Device info USB device.
2. This set top box supports the most common
music and video file formats. However, there may be
some formats that are not supported.
