Acoustic Emission (AE) Interface Cable Assembly for the

SKF Multilog On-line System IMx

Connections

•  Blue wire: AE sensor signal / phantom power line
•  Green wire: AE sensor 0 V return
•  Red wire: ICP signal
•  Black Wire: ICP ground
•  Screen: Cable shield

Simple installation

•  To install the CMSS-ONL-2504:

 

Mate the connector with CMSS 786M sensor, using thread lock 
(Loctite 243 recommended)

 

Connect the blue wire to J1-1 (input +) of CMON 2504

 

Connect the green wire to J1-2 (input –) of CMON 2504

 

Connect the red wire to IMx channel terminal A [ + ]

 

Connect the black wire to IMx channel terminal B [ – ]

 

Connect the cable shield to IMx chassis ground bar

•  Mount the CMSS 786M sensor per installation instructions
•  Connect the CMON 2504 per installation instructions

The cable screen is connected to the body of the sensor and is 
usually grounded by the sensor. Note that where the sensor is glued 
into position, there may not be an electrical connection and the cable 
screen may need to be connected to the earth strip below the DIN 
rail.

Configuration

In order to configure IMx-S, IMx-T or IMx-M and SKF @ptitude 
Analyst / SKF @ptitude Observer, it is necessary to position DIP 
switches in the used channels as shown in 

figs. 1

 and 

2

. Only change 

DIP settings when the IMx unit is powered off.
