Venting the timed lubricator
Oil can discharge while performing the follow-
ing steps.
Requirement: Oil supply unit is switched on.
Set (open) pressure regulating valve (
1
)
on main line to "non-pressurized."
Pressure builds up in the main line,
causing air to low back into the lubri-
cant tank.
Set pressure regulating valve (
1
) to
50 bar.
Loosen vent plugs (
2
and
3
) by 2 to 3
revolutions.
Electrically or mechanically actuate
timed lubricator
(
4
)
until bubble-free oil
discharges at both vent plugs
(for mechanical actuation, see "Trigger-
ing interim lubrication," Chapter 5.3.2).
Tighten vent plugs (
2
and
3
).
Tightening torque 10 Nm
Slightly loosen union nuts (
5
) on the
lubricating oil lines of the timed
lubricator (
4
).
Tighten the union nuts (
5
) when bubble-
free oil discharges.
5.3.1 Venting the lubrication system
- see Figure 6
After the oil supply unit, the main line, and the
timed lubricators have been vented, the lubri-
cation lines to the injector nozzles need to be
vented.
Starting at the oil supply unit, proceed as
follows for each timed lubricator:
Loosen union nuts on all injector nozzles
by one revolution.
Electrically or manually actuate timed
lubricator (using "manual emergency")
until bubble-free oil discharges at the
injector nozzles.
Retighten the union nut.
Repeat these steps on the remaining
injector nozzles.
Clean the outside of the injector nozzles.
