ZETA Series
GPRS/UMTS/LTE Terminal with GPIO
The green and blue LED’s can be controlled by the modem using the module general
purpose outputs.
The GPIO lines on the embedded module can be configured to control the LED
indicators directly. This allows the embedded modem to control the LED’s via
standard AT commands or using python to indicate modem status to the user.
Example AT Commands to Control LED Status
In the examples shown below the following AT commands can be entered on the
modem to directly control the user programmable LED’s. (The ZETA green LED is
directly connected to GPIO2 and the ZETA blue LED is directly connected to GPIO3).
AT#GPIO=2,1,1 (switch general purpose output 2 on, connected to green LED)
AT#GPIO=2,0,1 (switch general purpose output 2 off, connected to green LED)
AT#GPIO=3,1,1 (switch general purpose output 3 on, connected to blue LED)
AT#GPIO=3,0,1 (switch general purpose output 3 off, connected to blue LED)
User Programmable LED Status Control
During the power up and power down procedure the control of the blue and green
LED’s is managed by the internal CPLD. The status of the LED’s is as follows:
Power up procedure (When mains power is applied or when PWRON_IN is
enabled - Pin 4 RJ12 connector)
1) Green led flashes 300ms on / 300ms off whilst the CPLD performs the power up
process
2) After around 15-20 seconds the red LED will permanently illuminate indicating
that the modem is powered up and searching for a cellular network
3) After the modem has powered up correctly the control of the green and blue
LED’s is passed to the modem via GPIO 2 and GPIO 3 (See Example AT
Commands to Control LED Status)
Power up procedure (When PWROFF_IN is enabled - Pin 3 RJ12 connector)
1) Control of the green and blue LED’s is passes to the CPLD
2) Green led flashes 300ms on / 300ms off whilst the CPLD performs the power off
process
3) After around 5-10 seconds the red LED will go out indicating that the modem is
powered off
4) After the modem has powered off green LED’s will go out
