Thread the pole mount base onto the pole mount four to five full turns.

the Pole-Base onto the mount 

Ensure that there’s a gap  between  the lock nut and  washer, and  the pole mount 
base as shown in the following figure.  This will allow you to orient the combination 
of MX575

 

and pole mount base to the vessel.
