SAFETY & OPERATION DECALS

This unit has been designed and manufactured to pro-
vide you with the safety and reliability you would expect
from an industry leader in outdoor power equipment
manufacturing.

Although reading this manual and the safety instructions
it contains will provide you with the necessary basic
knowledge to operate this equipment safely and effec-
tively, we have placed several safety labels on the unit to
remind you of this important information while you are
operating your unit.

All DANGER, WARNING, CAUTION and instructional
messages on your rider and mower should be carefully
read and obeyed. Personal bodily injury can result when
these instructions are not followed. The information is for
your safety and it is important! The safety decals below
are on your rider and mower.

If any of these decals are lost or damaged, replace them
at once. Locate and contact a dealer through

www.simplicitymfg.com.

These labels are easily applied and will act as a constant
visual reminder to you, and others who may use the
equipment, to follow the safety instructions necessary for
safe, effective operation.

OPERATION

To Start Engine:

1. Sit in seat.
2. Set parking brake to PARK.
3. Push PTO switch DOWN to off position.
4. Move ground speed levers to PARK
positions.
5. Move throttle/choke control fully
forward past detent to CHOKE position.
6. Turn key to START to crank the engine.
7. After engine starts, release the key and
move the throttle/choke to FAST.

To Stop Engine:

1. Move ground speed levers to PARK
positions.
2. Set parking brake to PARK.
3. Move throttle/choke control to FAST.
4. Turn key switch to OFF.

FORWARD TRAVEL

To Engage the Mower Deck:

1. Sit in seat.
2. Start the engine (see "To Start Engine").
3. Pull the PTO switch UP to engage
the mower.

To Drive:

1. Start the engine (see "To Start Engine").
2. Set parking brake to DRIVE.
3. Move the ground speed levers out of
PARK positions.
4. Move levers as shown to travel.

To Disengage the Mower Deck:

1. Push the PTO switch DOWN to disengage
the mower deck.

AVOID SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH

• READ OPERATOR'S MANUAL(S).
• KNOW LOCATION AND FUNCTION OF ALL CONTROLS.
• KEEP SAFETY DEVICES (GUARDS, SHIELDS, &
SWITCHES) IN PLACE AND WORKING.
• REMOVE OBJECTS THAT COULD BE THROWN BY THE BLADE.
• DO NOT MOW WHEN CHILDREN OR OTHERS ARE AROUND.
• NEVER CARRY CHILDREN EVEN WITH BLADES OFF.
• LOOK DOWN AND BEHIND BEFORE AND WHILE BACKING.
• AVOID SUDDEN TURNS.
• IF YOU CANNOT BACK UP A HILL, DO NOT OPERATE ON IT.
• GO UP AND DOWN SLOPES, NOT ACROSS.
• IF MACHINE STOPS GOING UPHILL, STOP BLADE AND BACK
DOWN SLOWLY.
• BE SURE BLADE(S) AND ENGINE ARE STOPPED
BEFORE PLACING HANDS OR FEET NEAR BLADE(S).
• WHEN LEAVING MACHINE, SHUT OFF ENGINE,
REMOVE KEY, AND SET PARKING BRAKE.

DO NOT TOW RIDER!
