Battery
PRIOR TO USE
Thoroughly read and understand the operating instructions.
• Check 9v battery, if the battery voltage is less than 7v, display
will show ' ', the battery should be replaced at this time to
ensure measuring precision.
• Pay attention to the " " besides the input jack which shows
that the input voltage or current should be within the specified
value.
• The range switch should be positioned to the desired
measurement range for measurement before operation.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Measuring DC Voltage
• Connect the black test to COM jack and the red to VΩmA jack.
• Set the rotary switch at the desired V range position.
• Connect test leads across the source or load under
measurement.
• You can get reading from LCD. The polarity of the red lead
connection will be indicated along with the voltage value.
Note:
• When the value scale to be measured is unknown beforehand,
set the range selector at the highest position.
• When the figure '1' of '-1' is displayed, it indicates over-
range situation and the higher range has to be selected.
• " " means you can't input voltage higher than 600V, it's
possible to show higher voltage, but it may destroy the inner
circuit or pose a shock hazard.
• Always exercise caution when working with electric, if in any
doubt seek advice from a qualified electrician.
Measuring AC Voltage
• Connect the black test to COM jack and the red to VΩmA jack.
• Set the rotary switch at the desired V~ range position.
• Connect test leads across the source or load under
measurement.
Note:
•
When the value scale to be measured is unknown, set the
range selector at the highest position.
• When only the figure '1' or '-1' is displayed, it indicates an
over-range situation a higher range should be selected.
• " " means you can't input voltage higher than 600V, it's
possible to show higher voltage, but it may destroy the inner
circuit or pose a shock hazard.
• Always exercise caution when working with electric, if in any
doubt seek advice from a qualified electrician.
Measuring DC/AC Current
• Connect the black test lead to COM jack and the red to the
VΩmA jack for a maximum 200mA current.
• Set the rotary switch at the desired A /A~ range position.
• Connect test leads in series with the load under measurement.
• The polarity of the red lead connection will be indicated along
with the current value.
Note:
•
When the value scale to be measured is unknown, set the
range selector at the highest position.
• When only the figure '1' or '-1' is displayed, it indicates an
over-range situation a higher range should be selected.
• " " means the socket mA's maximum current is 200mA and
10A's maximum current is 10A, over current will destroy the
fuse. Since 10A is not fused, the measuring time should be
less than 1 second to prevent precision from affecting by circuit
heating.
Measuring Resistance
•
Connect the black test lead to COM jack and the red to VΩmA
jack.
• Set the rotary switch at the desired Ω range position.
• Connect test leads across the resistance under measurement.
• You can get reading from LCD.
Note:
• When only the figure '1' or '-1' is displayed, it indicates an
over-range situation a higher range should be selected.
• For measuring resistance above 1MΩ, the meter may take a
few seconds to get a stable reading.
• When the input is not connected, i.e. at open circuit, the figure
'1' will be displayed for the over-range condition.
•
When checking in-circuit resistance, be sure the circuit
under test has all power removed and that all capacitors
have been discharged fully.
• When the value scale to be measured is unknown, set the
range selector at the highest position.
Transistor Testing
• Set the rotary switch at 'hFE' position.
• Determine whether the transistor under testing is NPN or PNP
and locate the emitter, base and collector leads. Insert the
leads into proper holes of hFE socket on the front panel.
• Read the approximate hFE value at the testing condition of
base current 1b10uA and Vce 3V.
Diode Testing
• Connect the black test lead to COM jack and the red to VΩmA,
jack. (The polarity of red lead '+').
• Set the rotary switch at the F range position.
SAFETy INSTRUCTIONS
It is important to read and understand your instruction manual.
Learn the tools application, as well as it's limitations and the
potential hazards associated with this tool.
ADDITIONAL SAFETy INFORMATION FOR MULTIMETER
• The meter is designed according to IEC-1010 with an
over-voltage category (CAT III) and pollution 2.
• Follow all safety and operating instructions to ensure that
the meter is used safely and is kept in good operating
condition.
• Safety Symbols:
Important safety information, refer to the operating manual.
Dangerous voltage maybe present.
• Double insulation (Protection Class III).
• The meter is safe only according to standard procedures
when used in conjunction with the supplied test leads. Replace
damaged test leads only with the same model or same
electric specifications.
• Do not use the meter before the cover is in place to avoid
risk of electric shock.
• The range switch should be in the right position for testing.
• To avoid electric shock and damaging the instrument, the input
signals should not exceed the specified limits.
• When measuring switched power such as TV sets, attention
should be paid to the possible pulses that may cause
destruction of the circuit.
• Range switch position should never be changed at random
during measurement.
• Caution against shock when measuring voltages higher than
DC 60V & AC 30V.
• Protection fuse should be replaced only with same type and
specification.
